In fairness, what sort of sick, strange person would want to use American English anyway?

I always use it. Things in HTML like (Color) make me use US as a default while doing stuff like this.
I also work on a AZERTY Keyboard at work, I know I am a freak.....

Re: WhereMurlocsDare.Com
Righty, forums are 99% done.
I am looking for a few mods / hacks dunno if people are better google than me but here goes...
I want to add the item wow link hack/ mod. I just don't know what its called. I suck at google. Anyone any ideas? It needs to work with PHPBB3.
I am also looking for a RSS Feed app that will auto post on returning data. This needs to be able to pull from ALL RSS Feeds including Hostile and Video.

I've not had time to do any work on the site today and probably wont for a couple more days. Work is insanely busy coming upto to exam results day (I work for Edexcel) and having a new kitchen fitted this week + trying to do the dinning room floor / walls / etc etc etc time is just getting away from me.
I will get something done this weekend, hopefull finish off the base of the site and get the forums working a bit better.
As before, if anyone does want to do anything that needs doing, I'am more than happy for you too, but I don't if no-one wants to aswell.

I don't think anyone is demanding anything from you Derky. I think it's commendable that you're taking time out of your life to do this, being as busy as you are.
I don't have a clue what you guys are talking about in this thread. I'm actually surprised that there's so many WMD people who know this stuff.
Anyway Derky, as Cardinal said last night, I'm sure there's no rush getting the new site ready. Don't get stressed, especially in the current summer heat.
Now that I'm posting stuff anyway, did you find out whether or not we will be able to keep all the stuff posted on this forum?

Re: WhereMurlocsDare.Com
http://jesta.us/item/ looks like it might do the trick for item links.
Seems to be that or ItemStats, but a thread over here -> http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=72&t=703065 suggests that it's not much fun to get working.
Or this little monkey might be the goods: http://www.wowtooltips.com/ referenced from here.

*smiles* Thanks
We can keep stuff here yes, we won't be able to backup and restore but I can copy stuff over. It will just be in a quoted format as such. But it wont be lost.

Ill look at those later, Thanks for that.
Anyone know MSQL? I just realised its nothing like SQL or Oracle so I am kinda fucked.
I want to do the following but in MYSQL
- Code:
USE PHPBB_WMD_FUCKIT_DB
Begin Transaction
DECLARE @RowCount int
DECLARE @RowLimit int
SET @RowCount = 0
SET @RowLimit = 1
IF EXISTS SELECT LastRRR_ap_Bot_id WHERE USER_ID = '2'
UPDATE lastrss_ap_bot_id SET USER_ID ='3'
WHERE Lastrss_ap_Bot_Id = '2'
End
IF @@ERROR <> 0
GOTO ERR
IF @RowCount = @RowLimit
BEGIN
COMMIT
END
ELSE
GOTO ERR
RETURN
ERR:
ROLLBACK
GO

Ill change that at sometime.....!
I don't think transactions work in MYSQL, but meh, something to look at later tonight. For now its home time and painting to do!
While I remember,
I've installed RSS software and I am working configuring it, what it will do is automatically track blue posts (If I can make it work) put it should be able to auto post any MMO updates onto the forums in certain threads, so patch note threads can be auto updated!
If anyone has any sites they would like me to look into adding an RSS feed too do let me know

Ya, I am going to add that feature in. I was planning to add it to the front page (Well tracking anything that would effect us) but ill more than likely just add a seperate portal for it.

Coming on nicely! I've signed up again after the first forum exploded.
Could be me going blind, but is there a button to get back to the portal from the actual forum section? Nothing major, just something I noticed.

These are the images that need editing to fit. The logo image needs to have the BG colour changed to either match the forum skin or what ever.
The logo's left and right are randomly added to the site during a refresh, so they need to be replaced. Murlcos maybe?
On a side note, don't use thi image gallery for anything important yet. once the skin is done ill be trashing it as its fucking shit. I have a better one but I cant be arsed to re-install it just yet

Re: WhereMurlocsDare.Com
Cheers D,
I've had a little play around with the WMD Logo and have come up with a slightly modified version. Can you please leave feedback on whether you like it or not, how it compares to the current logo (the one at the top of your browser!) and anything you would change with it.
I have a few ideas on what I want it to look like on the new site but feedback is very important!

Re: WhereMurlocsDare.Com
I like the stencil/military feel of our current logo - and it's simple. Plays on the WMD / Weapons of Mass Destruction / Where Murlocs Dare wordplay too. Your new logo is crisper, but it has lost that "t0p seKret des3rt airb4se" feel..

Sure, that can be easier edited.
A quite literal change based on Marv's feedback.

Re: WhereMurlocsDare.Com
Yeah, much better - but can you make it look a bit ratty? Here's a few links and images to illustrate what I'm thinking:

Re: WhereMurlocsDare.Com
A slightly more worn looking army stencil logo.

I personally don't like the gap between the W and the full stop but I'm sure I can edit that out.

Re: WhereMurlocsDare.Com
I like them both - the second logo (serif stencil font) looks nicer, but the third logo (rattier sans-serif stencil) feels better.

Re: WhereMurlocsDare.Com
I could use the font from the second mockup to do the W.M.D then the font from the third mockup to do the Where Murlocs Dare part.
