Call of the Crusade Empty Call of the Crusade

In the next major content patch, the construction of the Crusaders’ Coliseum on the Argent Tournament grounds will be complete, and it will hold new challenges for players. We’d like to share some details on the new dungeon, which represents the next tier of content for the game, but keep in mind that this is still in development and subject to change. The Crusaders’ Coliseum will include:

    * New epic 10- and 25-player raid dungeon with five encounters, with each encounter being unlocked one week at a time
    * A more intuitive structure for harder encounters. This raid dungeon will have four different versions: 10-player, 25-player, 10-player Heroic, and 25-player Heroic, with each one using a separate lockout.
    * Introduction of the Crusaders’ Tribute! Each of the Heroic mode instances has a new tribute system that will limit players on the number of attempts they get in the Coliseum each week to present a greater challenge for the most battle-hardened heroes. Additional rewards can be earned depending on the number of attempts left in the tribute run each week when the final boss is defeated.
    * New 5-player dungeon with three encounters that will include Champion’s Seals as each one is defeated
    * New tier of armor and weapons that are modeled with Alliance- or Horde-specific themes

So what I'm seeing here for us, is 10 encounters, two per week. And if we manage to defeat the Hard Modes in a few attempts we get better rewards for doing it... interesting.

Talk about staggered content though. :p. Looks like this will be a little side-thing to do alongside Ulduar.

Hopefully it will be good. The approach certainly seems interesting. Like an artificial block for those odd guilds that steamroll through content. I suppose it could be expected after Algalol. Certainly sounds like they're rewarding players for how well they play though so *shrug*.

As long as the five bosses are of suitably epic proportions then this should be good. Maybe we'll get a surprise update to one of the Dragon sanctums as well.

From a lore perspective it seems slightly strange though. The Argent Crusade throwing together a Coliseum and filling it with people to kill. Certainly suggests that they'll be another major raid dungeon before Icecrown as this does seem like a bit of a 'filler' as it's certainly not comparable to Yogg-Saron.

I have a mixed opinion about this. Do they think people will do the normal and hard mode versions in a single week? Why separate them?

The tribute thing, e.g, the less you die the more loot you get at the end could be nice... Or the most frustrating thing ever!

I am happy that 10 man raids are at last called 'heroic' too though...

We'll have to see what our status is when 3.2 hits. At the moment it should easily fit in on Monday's at least.

I think a lot of people were complaining about the progression paths. I guess this makes it a little more clear.

Interesting that the armour will be specifically Horde/Alliance styled, though suppose it makes sense in as much as it's being "made" by the best artisans for the faction's champions (cf: recent PvP stuff).

If (as it appears) this is going to be Tier 9, it would presumably make sense to give it some priority over Ulduar, in the same way as Ulduar takes priority over Naxxramas?

Presumably yes, but if it's only one/two bosses per week then it's sort of comparable to OS/EoE isn't it?

Unless of course they mean that each one unlocks each week, until after five weeks you'll be able to kill all five in one lockout. It certainly suggests a lot of PTR time anyway.

Aye, unlocking bosses over time would reflect what they did with the Sunwell of course, and I suppose gives a more gradual switchover (as opposed to Naxxramas, which must've been rather ghost townish after Ulduar came out!).
