    General Healing Tactics

Simple Tactic I - one tank (applies to many bosses)

    - MT healer: paladin + priest (3 healers) / paladin + priest (2 healers)
    - Raid healer: druid + priest (3 healers) / priest (2 healers)

Simple Tactic II - two tanks (applies to most trash and most bosses)

    - MT healer: paladin (3 healers) / paladin (2 healers)
    - OT healer: priest (3 healers) / priest (2 healers)
    - Raid healer: druid + priest (3 healers) / priest (2 healers)

    Raidhealing

    - Put all melee in one group if possible! If melee + tanks > 5, put OT with the ranged.
    - Coordinate: as a rule, priest (or paladin) heals melee and druid (or priest) does ranged druid (or paladin) heals melee and priest does ranged if there's periodic AoE. like Ignis' or Kologarn's. Changed as Wild Growth may grant Revitalize (energy/runic power gains) to melee dps!

    Power or Endurance fight?

    - Power fights are quick and have a lot of AoE or big nukes on tanks. Forget regen and crossheal at will!
    - Endurance fights are long (4 minutes or more). Save mana and watch your targets!
    - Mixed fights have bursty phases. Equip regen or power gear according to specific tactics!

    Flame Leviathan

    - If you drive the bike, use First Aid on pickups before returning them.

    Razorscale

    - Normal Mode: Two healers (pref. Disc/Holydin). Mixed fight!
    - One of the healers or a ranged activate turrets when ready.
    - All healers spam heals on current tank in Phase 2 (after grounded) - watch the switches!

    - Hard Mode [Iron Dwarf, Medium Rare]: Three healers instead of two. Power Fight!
    - Keep tanks alive as they roast dwarves in front of Razor.

    Ignis the Furnace Master

    - Normal Mode: Three healers, Simple Tactic II. Power fight!
    - Raid healer make sure to heal potted people.
    - Watch out for spell locks on direct heals.
    - Damage increases the more adds are up, turn up healing accordingly.

    - Hard Mode [Stokin' the Furnace]: Two healers instead of three. Power fight!
    - More aggressive HoTing.
    - Don't lose the tank when healing potted people.
    - Warn dps as soon as you're potted, for Heroism.

    XT-002

    - Normal Mode: Two healers, Simple Tactic II. Mixed fight!
    - Ranged group up - bombed people run to the sides.
    - Help AoE adds if they come!
    - Heal Light and Gravity Bombed people.

    - Hard Mode [Heartbreaker]: Two healers instead of three. Endurance fight!
    - Help nuke the heart!
    - HoT up aggressively.

    Iron Council

    - Normal Mode [I Choose You, Stormcaller Brundir!]: Three healers, Simple Tactic II, but put the druid on OT healing (both cleansers on raid/MT). Mixed fight!
    - Set your DBM to announce Overloads. Don't get zapped! Spread out from other ranged to avoid Chain Lightning.
    - P1 (Steelbreaker): Power fight. Aggressive cleansing of Steelbreaker tank.
    - P2 (Molgeim): Mixed fight. Run out of runes, be quick to save runed people.
    - P3 (Brundir): Power fight. Spread out, so all raid is covered by at least one healer.

    - Hard Mode [I Choose You, Steelbreaker!]: Three healers, Simple Tactic II.
    - P1 (Molgeim): Endurance fight. Steelbreaker tank cleanses himself.
    - P2 (Brundir): Mixed fight. Top up zapped people fast. Steelbreaker tank cleanses himself.
    - P3 (Steelbreaker): Power fight. Aggressive HoTing of raid. Two healers on Steelbreaker tank, one heals (pref. paladin) the other cleanses and heals (pref. priest). Switch to secondary tank when the first tank blows up.

    - Hard Mode [I Choose You, Runemaster Molgeim!]: ?

    Kologarn

    - Normal Mode: Three healers, Simple Tactic II. Power fight!
    - Watch out for tanks switching between rubble and Kologarn's body.
    - Raid healer heals gripped dps. If a tank healer is gripped, heal them AND their tank. If a raid healer is gripped, heal them.
    - Don't stand where the gripped get thrown.

    - Hard Mode [Disarmed]: same as Normal.

    Auriaya

    - Normal Mode: Three healers, Simple Tactic I. Mixed fight!
    - Watch your position - stay in melee range and in front of Auriaya.
    - HoT aggressively.

    - Hard Mode [Crazy Cat Lady]: ?

    Mimiron

    - Normal Mode: Three healers, SPECIAL TACTIC. Mixed fight!
    - P1: Power fight. One healer on napalmed people (pref. paladin), the other two healers spam tank during Plasma Blast. Coordinate order of lifesavers (ret special, tank special, priest special). Spread out so napalm only hits one ranged at a time.
    - P2: Power fight. Instants/HoTs are king. Don't eat a rocket, move fast if he starts to fire up lasers.
    - P3: Endurance fight. Regen here if you can! One healer on the ranged tank (pref. paladin), one healer on the bomb tank (platewearer, pref. priest), third healer on the MT (tanking bots, easiest to heal). Don't stand near the head. Don't loot anything.
    - P4: Power fight. Watch out for rockets and lasers, don't run into mines, HoT aggressively. One healer on the ranged (pref. paladin), the other two heal the raid.

    - Hard Mode [Firefighter]: ?

    Freya

    - Normal Mode: Three healers, Simple Tactic II. Mixed fight!
    - P1: stay just outside of melee on the little guys; spread out on the elementals; find a mushroom to hug on the big guy.
    - P2: run away from the bombs.

    - Hard Mode [Knock on Wood]: Three healers, Simple Tactic II. Mixed fight!
    - More damage taken depending on how many Elders are up, adjust accordingly! P1 is a Power Fight, P2 is an Endurance Fight.
    - Elder Ironbranch's Iron Roots: raid healers top up rooted people, move away from bombs fast (it's pretty much a oneshot if you get rooted near a bomb).
    - Elder Stonebark's Ground Tremor: HoT aggressively, time your heals to avoid for spell-locks.
    - Elder Brightleaf's Solar Flare: ?

    Thorim

    - Normal Mode: Three healers, Simple Tactic II. Power fight!

    - P2 (gauntlet/arena): same as Normal.
    - P3 (Thorim and Sif): aggressive healing, keep both tanks at full health always. Cleanse frost novaed people near charging pillars, avoid getting caught in a Blizzard.

    Hodir

    - Normal Mode: Three healers, Simple Tactic I. Power fight!
    - Don't get caught in icicles, don't get caught off a snowdrift after a Freeze.
    - Keep moving/jumping or stand near a Toasty Fire to avoid stacking Biting Cold.
    - Cleanse frost novaed people.
    - Aggressive HoTing before and during Frozen Blows!

    - Hard Mode [I Could Say That This Cache Was Rare]: Two healers, Simple Tactic I. Power fight!

    General Vezax

    - Normal Mode: Three healers, SPECIAL TACTIC. Endurance fight!
    - Dodge shadow crashes! Try to stand near ranged dps, so they can jump into the black puddle asap.
    - Keep distance from other ranged/melee. If you get Mark of the Faceless, run away from Vezax if there's people near you.
    - When the tank runs, run early and keep up with him.
    - One healer starts on standby, two healers on the MT. Every X minutes, call for a Saronite Vapor and send one of the active healers to regen, while the standby healer steps in. Repeat until Vezax is dead.
    - Hard Mode [I Love the Smell of Saronite in the Morning]: ?

    Yogg-Saron

    - Normal Mode: Three healers, SPECIAL TACTIC. Mixed fight!
    - P1: Power fight! All hug Sara, keep the whole raid topped, run out of melee range if you get Sara's Fervor/Favour. Don't go near the clouds! When the clouds despawn, run away from the centre (avoid knockback).
    - P2: Mixed fight! One healer (pref. a decurser) make sure the brain team goes in at full health and decursed, second healer (pref. paladin) on the tank, third healer on everyone. If you get brain linked, run towards your brainmate. Try to stay away from Constrictor Tentacles. Watch your Sanity level.
    - P3: Mixed fight! All healers turn back away from Yogg-Saron, stay at max range from him (gives tanks more time to grab adds). Tanks take bursty damage (adds hit hardest when they're at full health). Watch your Sanity level.
    - Hard Mode: ?

    Algalon

Post  Marveen Tue Jun 30, 2009 5:21 am

Posted an overview of the healing tactics I've been using. I'd like both D and Zuzu to try doing healing assignments every other week, partly because I want a night off doing it every now and then Very Happy, but I'm also sure you can come up with improvements when you run things from your class' perspective.

So, next Thursday 2nd July it's Zuzu doing the assignments! If you want, you can download GettingThingsHealed to help you sort out the assignments. I'm trying to figure out if there's an easier way to copy my healing assignments than just giving you a copy of my \World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\\SavedVariables\GettingThingsHealed.lua file, but at worst I'll just send you the file if you want to use my templates. I have the following set up:

    - 2H
    - 3H Simple I
    - 3H Simple II
    - Mimiron
    - Iron Council
    - Iron Council Hard
    - Yogg-Saron

That's really all the assignments we've been using for Ulduar.. Smile
